hey, when your installing crank bearings do you need to put in the little aluminum slider in between them? Also whats the point of the slider when the spindle rests on the bearings?

It's to make sure that when you tighten your bolts on your crank(NOT your pinch bolts)that it doesn't push the inner part of your bearings in, farther onto your spindle. A lot of people ride without one of course(Save weight!!), I however don't care about a few ounces in the center of my bike, so I leave it in.
