I orderd the Eastern PayDirt from DansComp a few days ago. My first question is that is this a good bike for a 16yr. old as a first bike? Second is it came yesterday and the front axel is messed up, so should i send the bike back or just go down to the local bike shop and have the axel replaced?

it cost like 15 dollars for new axle....just od that...and why'd you ask if it was a good bike AFTER you bought it?

because if someone said i should send it back i would have gotten another bike like a DK or something

if your second guessing it why'd you get it in the first place?

Good bike= 100% cro-mo frame and fork.. nd from a good company.. such as S&M, DK, Fit, WTP.. nd otha companies of the sort.. The paydirt is probly 100% hi-ten steel.. Hi-ten is not very good, nor are any of the other parts on your bike, you bought one of the worst BMX bikes possible.. It'll probly break a lot, even on some stupid tricks.. you may even brake it doing a bunnyhop..

You might want to squeeze your wallet a lil more and get either the 6 Pack or the Cleveland..

Doesn't look like you need any help in that department. And please don't use profanity.

Not saying that you aren't correct, but that's kinda mean..

He's asking about a bike that he's already ordered. A bit late for that. And it arrived damaged, and he's asking us what to do. Perhaps he could have asked about the bike before he ordered it. And perhaps he should contact the place he ordered it from if it has damage. And he spelled "Idiot" wrong too, which should technically absolve me of any wrong-doing.

i dont think they will give you a refund just cause the axle is broken.they will give you a new axle though.
basically you are an idiot and will be stuck with a bike you are unhappy with untill you can afford a new bike. A lesson is learnt.

Let's not be too hasty to judge. And Brad, thank you for not getting all defensive. Some of the posts (mine included) have not been too kind with regards to your methodology. Hopefully something good will come from this lesson.

yes i have learned a lesson, the lesson is that to do more homework on the bike to see if it is good or not.

And cro-mo is your friend. Along with high spoke counts, and 14mm axles.
