It depends on what you do with it. I think the most important issue tends to be where these bikes are purchased. Should you buy one at Wal-Mart, or another large retailer, you can pretty much count on the fact that the bicycle isn't set-up properly. This can be a serious safety issue. In addition, you don't have a shop from which to receive regular tuning and advice. My advice would be to go t a local bike shop, let them know what you are interested in and see if they can find something for you in that price range. Here are some Pacific bike reviews -

In my eyes and im sure others agree with me, pacific bikes suck major ass!!!!! get a real bike like devinci kona trek specialized

I was just at wally-world last night and checked out the Schwinn's, all the while hearing over the PA about how Schwinn's are NOW at Wal-Mart, one of the "greatest" bikes....etc.
The first thing I did was pick the bike up. Man, it had to weight 40 lbs, then I looked at the welds. A 5-year old hopped up on heroin could do better. The components were all Shimano very low end stuff, all OEM only level stuff! The frame was Hi-tensile steel, (soft and heavy), the wheels were heavy, and the front was already out of tru. Handlebars, stem and seatpost were no name, seat was huge!
All in all, I'm sure we'll be seeing many out on the roads. Pacific bought the Name and kept it, but not the quality that was previously associated with it.

There are plenty of people that are perfectly satisfied with these bikes. In the long run, though, they'll be happier, and pay nearly the same amount, if they purchase an inexpensive bike at a shop that is properly assembled and serviced. Let's face it, it took years for any of us to tap the performance our bikes are capable of.
