I soon begin a journey with a comrade! To ride across the states, the plan is to fly with bikes and gear to california/nevada...or Colorado. We would then pass Arizon and travel East towards New York State. The mapping of our route is still in process, I have not yet purchased my road bike...which I hope to spend at most 400 bucks on ...it's all I could afford, if even that.

So, I just wanted to know if anyone has ever done a x-country trip like this, from coast to coast? This would be my first one and I would appreciate any/all suggestions and help.

Of course I have some idea of the type of gear that I would need for camping...but please feel free to suggest anything!

If anyone is interested in joining this voyage...We will welcome you into our party.

I'm going this spring from NH to California. This will be my first time! When are you planning on going?

hello,

I saw your ad and I wanted to let you know that today I placed an ad in the "Ride Partners" forum. It's titled "Join me for a TransAmerica ride East to West!". Since you have not chosen a route yet I thought I would ask if you would like to join me going east to west. Why would you want to go east-west? Well, starting out east is easier than going west-east. Out here we don't have the Sierra Nevadas or the Rockies. If this is your first X-Country tour, like me you may want to make it as easy as possible and then take on the high climbing when you are ready for it (things don't get hilly until you get to Colorado).

If you are at all interested, take a look at my ad and contact me. Feel free to contact me with any questions about preparation as well.

Take care and happy riding
