Dave through the Americas - Representing BF in first interview 10.22.02

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Yea yea, I know I'm behind in my updates. When I made it to Seattle it was hard to spend hours on the computer typing when there were so many friends to see! I'll get some updates in soon.

I just wanted to post that I had my first interview today. The people I am staying with in Raymond, Washington called up the local newspaper and a reporter came over to interview me for a story. I told the reporter all about my trip and when she took my photo I had my Bikeforums jersey on. I am excited about that because since getting the jersey in Vancouver, I haven't been wearing it as much as I'd like. But I had it today on my ride into Raymond and showed it off for my Willapa Harbor Herald photo. I hope to spread the word about Bikeforums as I continue down the Pacific Coast of the US.

Tomorrow I enter Oregon. I'll be in Astoria for a few days (maybe get to put in some journal entries) and then continue down the Oregon Coast. I wonder if the Tillamook factory gives tours. Mmm, Cheese. People on the West Coast, you know what I'm talking about.

Well, if you are on the Pacific Coast and want to join up for a few miles, let me know.

Peace!

Dave

If you want a cool place to stay stop by the Heceta Head Lighthouse (http://www.hecetalighthouse.com/). The caretakers are old friends of mine and they will treat you right. If you want, I'll drop them a line and let them know you are on the way but no notice is necessary - just tell them that Jeff Streifling is a friend of yours. They travel all over the world off season (just got back from Cambodia) and are avid bikers.

I sent them an e-mail, I'm assuming they are there .. a friend of mine visited them the other weekend but I haven't talked to him since. Regardless, it's right in your path.
