Can I please get a side view of that bike.
Do the lug lines really match the grips?

It's amazing what you can do with a $3 paint pen. The lining is 3 months old now and get's ridden damned near every day. Although it looks like it's time for a reapp, no?
PS: I live in my own filth and just moved back into this place so f*ckoff damnit. Don't judge, I can feel you judgin'.

I've noticed you're really into the bolding of text.

Is that a green brooks saddle tossed on the ground? That's Brooks abuse. I'll take it if you don't want it.

yes indeed it is, and no no it's not. It was raining that wonderful london rain when I got back so I thought I'd save the baby for a sunnier day seeing how i ran outta plastic bags and my fender got stolen with my other brooks last week.

I'm bold and beautiful, baby! What more can I say? :)
Not intending to hijack your thread, I'mOnCrank, so tell me...what is that funky tape you're using under the Oury grips? Also, was it hard sliding the grips over the tape all the way down the bars?
I'm thinking of using this technique for bullhorns.

I don't mean to sound like a dick, but what is the purpose/what benefits do tilting your bars "back" like that?

No worries, no hijack if it's on grips right? There's no tape there, not again ever. I hate tape. It's ourys and two sets of champ keirin grips. I put the ourys on first with some tri-flow (not a recommended method cause it takes too long to dry) and zip tied the end closest to the stem down and stretched them as far as they could go and ziptied the other ends down with a little bit of extra hanging off so that I could slip the champs under them. Then I used an x-acto to slice the bottom off one set of champs and slid them up using the hot water/windex method cause I couldn't get my hands on any rubber cement (it really works) and zip-tied/stretched those to the max as well. Last pair of champs went on the same way and got ziptied as well. Leave it over night to dry and voila, comfy bars.

They're not, it's just a stupid camera angle thing. The bottoms are parallel to the ground.
Almost forgot, I put the bottom pair of champs over the top of the top pair so I could roll em off. The Ourys are easier to get stuff out from under.

Why do you hate Americ....uh, I mean bar tape? I assume you're talking cork?
ImOnCrank
01-08-06, 05:51 PM
Yeah Ameri... cork tape ******** sucks. It's expensive, one use only, gums the crap outta my pretty bars, dies easily, and if you screw up putting it on that's the end of that. I'm done with my bartape days.

Expensive and single use = $10 over 6+ months?
I guess.
;)

The most I've ever gotten outta cork tape is 1 month before it was all holed to crap and it set me back 15 bucks. Tried it three times before I got fed up.

Yeap. Indeed it is. The one pair of champs has lasted me 6 or 7 months now and has plenty of life left. I'm planning on getting a few years outta this set up.
Why the sh*t use cork when gel tape is cheaper and comfier?
bostontrevor

Gel tape is cork. It's cork with some closed-cell foam. I've always seen it more expensive than comparable cork and cork is just fine for me.
