Road Cycling - Who is hitting the indoor trainer yet?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
With the cold weather here in Wisconsin right now, I have been using my new cycleops fluid 2 trainer, not a bad alternative. Anyone else starting to use theirs?

I have been using my Kreitler Rollers for over a month now. I live in Northern Ontario and it has been just miserable weather for the last little while. The snow has already been on us for the past couple of weeks and it has been very cold. Even for up here this is really early to get this type of weather. The odd day I still get outside if it warms up but the highs these days have been about 2 degrees C so just a tad on the cool side to be road riding.
I am still commuting to work on my mountain bike!

I'm washing the mud and muck off of my older MTB and putting it on the trainer today. (Cycle Ops Fluid 2) Weather's turning nasty and rainy.
I hate winter. :(

I've been on my cycle ops fluid 2 for the past week or so...hopefully we get an indian summer for some more outdoor riding...
I'm one of those Southerners that doesn't like cold or rain. :(
<--- See my avatar. :)
It's dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home. And it seems that it has been cloudy and/or rainy TOO MUCH lately.
I've been on my new Cycle-Ops magneto for the past few weeks.
Not quite the same as riding though.
Weekends are still a go for riding. :D

Woke up to 2" of snow this morning. Yes, depressing.
Been on the trainer about 4 times so far this fall. It'll be 4 timer/wk by Nov 1.
I've been using my Bikemax for indoor training when unable to ride for the last 6yrs... at least once a week.
Although I've lived in CA for 30yrs, my heart is still in 4 seasoned Michigan :D

Nice ride!!!

I accidentally bump into the one in my garage on occasion! :D
I got rid of my rollers and an indoor trainer when I moved to the S.F. Bay area. I cut down my riding to just weekends during the winter. I never did like riding indoors anyway. I still go out as long as it's not actually raining when I start out. Once I get started I don't mind a little rain.
No, not yet. I'll be climbing on the trainer (hopefully I'll have my ergo trainer set-up and ready to go soon...) the first week of November, when my training group starts the long winter training. Oh how I am not looking forward to it.

Puh-leeze. Daylight savings doesn't end for 3 more days.
In fact, I don't even have a trainer. Desperation is a cruel teacher... early morning rides may be in the offing. I will get in 6K miles this year. [insert smiley thumping fist on table here]

I'm on the trainer every morning during the week since it's still totally dark by the time I leave for work. If there's any light left in the evening I'll go out for a spin around the neighborhood but most of the road riding is now left for the weekends.

Its my day off on Saturday and sunday and the weather prediction is 12 and 14 here in Toronto, will try to ride the bike, as for placing it on a roller, I have not yet used my roller yet......
I use my back up commuter road bike for my trainer, Ive head that the trainer is tough on the frame. Would like to toss my nice road bike on , but I dont want the wear and tear. Is this true, are rear wheel connect trainers tough on frames?

I am looking at getting some type of training device for the winter. Any opinions about rollers vs trainers?

Tweny minutes this morning. Since I got this Trigeminal Neuralgia, cold weather and I just do not mix any more, so I have to be careful about cold exposure, and it is 38 F out. Perhaps after my operation for TN on November 18th and subsequent 3 week recovery, I will be more motivated to get out in cold weather and to recharge my night lite batteries, if they are rechargeable!!
I did work up a little sweat. I think I would be a lot more motivated if I had a computer hooked up to my bike's rear wheel. Will have to check that out. I get motivated by distance and speed, bu not by minutes.
