Howdy! I'm Oso from Portland, OR. I get most of my miles in by commuting to work, but after missing half of spring and all of summer recovering from an idiot driver I'm spending more of my days off riding for the sheer joy of it.

I ride a Trek 520 touring bike w/ a mix of 105 and Deore LX components.

I just discovered these forums and I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all.

Oops, looks like I cut myself off mid-post. I was trying to say that now that I'm back on the bike I'm taking more days off to ride for pleasure, not just to get somewhere. I'm really enjoying the fabulous fall weather Portland has received so far. [knocks on wood and looks at the ominous rainclouds headed in for a 6 month stay]

I am at you approximate latitude but due west (coast) hoping for similar good weather trends as I continue my journey south through this beautiful state. Glad to see you on the forums and l look foward to your participation.

Welcome Oso, glad to see you've found your way to this place and good to hear you're back on the bike. There has been quite an influx of the old bicycling.com members discovering this forum lately.

p.s. - don't tell the bicycling.com trolls, (the mods here don't need the headaches) and then they can troll to their hearts content amongst themselves over in the love forum
