Recumbent - longbikes(ryan) duplex no longer made?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I don't see that bike on Longbikes website. Did they stop making it? Have they sold the design to someone else?

Longbikes still builds the LWB tandem, but it's now called the Gulfstream. The Duplex and Vanguard names have been dropped (Or are the property of Ryan Recumbents) For a time Longbikes offered the Vanguard and the Duplex, then the Slipstream was introduced (Very close to a Vanguard, but with a lower seat and higher bottom bracket) Soon after that the Vanguard and Duplex names were dropped from the Longbikes line. The Duplex was reworked to look more like the Slipstream and labeled the Gulfstream.
I have ridden both the Duplex and the Gulfstream, in fact we have had our Gulfstream for about a year and a half. It handles and rides very much like the Duplex.

Thanks! I see it now, somehow I missed the Gulfstream in the menu. Wife and I swapped our MTB Tandem for a Ryan Duplex for a couple of weeks last spring, I have never been a fan of recumbents but I really liked the way the Duplex rode, my wife loved it. The gulfstream looks good I like how the bottom tube sweeps up to meet the top tube at the rear wheel.
I have been building my own Diamond frame bikes for awhile so I may have a go at building one of these
The Duplex was replaced two years ago by the Gulfstream, a Slipstreamized Duplex. Check out he website, www.longbikes.com and click on Gulfstream. We have frames on the shelf!
