i want to order my first mountain bike online, cant get it in any local shops (05 kona blast)...

edit: read the faq now, so buying a first bike online is probably a bad idea, but id really like to pick up this particular bike IF its going to to feel comfortable and fit right.. perhaps i could check out the feel/fit of a kona bike that is similiar to the 2005 blast and go from there? what do you guys think?

You should definately try to find someone with the same bike and try it out and see how it fits. Just whatever you do, do not go to a bike shop and test out the fit and ride of the bike then buy it off of the internet.

LowCel has the right idea here, and thanks for reading the FAQ. Perhaps you should try the 2006 model available now at your friendly LBS. Sure beats the heck out of buying on faith, especially on a used bike

yeh i wasnt going to buy a used one, kona still offers the 05 model on their site, which is why i dont understand why my LBS is saying they cant get it, and theyre the only kona dealer within 6 hours of me

also, the 06 blast kinda sucks compared to the 05 if you check the specs

thanks for the advice though

Well then, ordering the 05 from Kona makes sense as they'll ship it to their local dealer for assembly. You could use the 06 to size yourself up and since the bike is going to be shipped there no harm as they have a co-op arrangement with their dealers (Kona is one of the few companies that sell bikes online through the home site)
