Hi i need some help buying a turbo trainer, problem is ive got £100 to spend on one but there's different ones and not knowing anything about them i don't want to waste my money on a crap one. Could someone explain the difference between a flywheel and magnet model and possibly recommend one to me. Must be in the UK though
Thanx for any help

I've got a Minora Ergo Mag trainer and have had good success with it. As far as I can tell the mag trainers use an actual magnet for resistance to pedal against, while the flywheel ones use a flywheel to smooth out the rotatation with a strap to increase resistance when it is tightened.
There are some other models that use wind resistance from some type of fan or turbine, as well as others that have liquid resistance etc. As you say there are a lot of different trainers out there.
The Mag trainer is smooth and relatively quiet and so far has lasted well.
