keeping track of points for experience upgrades

When it comes to upgrading, what kind of documentation do you need to show for your "experience" points? Some race clinics count towards this. Do you just need to show a receipt to prove that you went? How does this work?

For people in northern cal. who are doing the early birds, can this be used for experience upgrades? I'm assuming that it can, but I don't know if that is true of the mentoring sessions or just the practice races.

As I understand it, the race counts as one experience point and the mentoring for a second point. If you do all five Early Birds you should garner 10 experience points and be able to upgrade to the next category.

Since you are in the NCNCA, you will need to send Casey Kerrigan an e-mail (he is the NCNCA President and was the starter at the EB Crit #1) after you have done 10 mass start races, or a combination of at least 5 races and up to 5 points from clinics. Just list the races you did, what race you were in, (ex Elite 5 or 35+, etc.) and what clincs you did, if any. Casey should have all of the information to verify.

Each EB Crit counts as 2 points if you do the clinic and the race (they recorded our numbers during the race, but I don't know how they will know if you actually attended the clinic or not.)

I went to a basic skills clinic in December, which was worth 5 races toward the 10 needed to upgrade from Cat 5 to Cat 4, but a rider is only allowed to use clinics to count for a maximum of 5 races, so I still get 1 point for each early bird crit, but can not get the extra point for the mentoring clinic. I'll still go to a few of the mentoring clinics though since I think they are very usefull.

at least around here, its pretty much honor system until you get up to the 1/2/3 levels
