Actually this person seems a little nuts but it is amazing how different her mind is than mine which is good for ideas. The car free lifestyle and the thread on simplicity sorta resonated with this woman's long assed page.

I question the no health insurance. If the person was to get sick or the child, then those bills are going to add up fast.

The link is to one page in a very large and somewhat chaotic web site. I ran across it a few years ago when I was reading about gardening. You can't help but be impressed by some of the weirdness there. Such as when she got evicted from a house once, she packed up all the topsoil and took it with her!!

i love cooking, by making my yogurt doesn't sound the least bit appealing. as stated in my earlier post i enjoy living simply, but part of that enjoyment comes from acruing money and saving it. i enjoy traveling overseas, sushi with friends, and choose to spend money on productive things and make me happy and don't complicate my life.

as far as health insurance, if you have an illness dependent on medicine, then you need insurance. being a type 1 diabetic there's a big difference in the insulin and supplies i'm able to receive with my good insurance and co-pay, versus what they hand out at a clinic.

i don't agree with the way health care and good treatment is so intricatly tied with a job, but unfortunately that's the way it is right now. so when i do retire and travel for weeks on end, odds are i may have a part time job somewhere between that gives me insurance.

Moderation. If we all applied a little bit of her stuff that makes sense, we'd all benefit. There's no way I could go without insurance though. Sure, I could eat healthy, but that doesn't mean I'll never crash my MTB or BMX.

Yeah, the insurance thing is definitely a must. Admonishments to get exercise and eat right are great, but I've injured myself without insurance before, and being in debt will ruin a Bohemian lifestyle just as quickly as "working for the man" will.

I'm in a position where i need to buy insurance either through my contract agency, or outside...I think I'm gonna go with "catastrophic"..which at my last workplace didn't kick in until there was a 10,000 bill.
That's the kind of stuff i worry about, a pin in my leg or cancer or a heart attack. i don't need insurance for amoxicillin or whatever people run to the doctor for when they get a sniffle.
