Do I have to remove the brake handle?

I swapped out a stock quill stem for a Nitto from Rivendale: nice classic look and perfect position achieved! However, the current fr. brake housing that follows the bar and gets taped over is just long enough to be an inch or two short.

I thought that would be the case so I already have a new cable. Question: do I have to take the 105 handles off again to attach a new cable or can this be done with the handles in place (now that I have them just where I want them). :)

I'm usually able to push cables through without removing the brake lever. But I've just got aero brake levers; I'm not sure how it works if you've got brake/shift levers.
New cable and housing should run $5-7 at your LBS - just bring in the old cable housing, and know how much longer the new housing needs to be cut.

They stay on to re-cable, although new tape job is required.
