Hello,

I ride 20 minutes every other day.. on rollers.... I stay between 70% to 80% of my max heart rate. (which is 180)

every few days or so.. I am pretty lightheaded all day. Not bad enough really to sit down.. but I was wondering if this is normal for a beginner.

The wierd thing is... I get this at lunch time... I NEVER get dizzy or woozy WHILE riding? this is the strange part.

I am not in the greatest of shape.. 31years old.. 6ft tall.. 235lbs...

I dont know what I am doing wrong... I thought 20 min a day every other day was a good SLOW start?

any one else getting lightheaded?

Thanks for any advice

When was your last physical? It's probably nothing, but my doctor always wants to hear about any dizzyness.

Are you taking any vitamins? Lack of iron can cause dizzyness. What's your blood pressure?

Really all day, or just off and on. Is your blood pressure within a normal range?

only got woozy for about an hour today.. I had a hard ride today.. pushed a little more than I usually do.

the last time I checked my blood pressure at a doctor it was on the high side.. but nothing to get worried about.

So I bought a blood pressuer monitor at home.. and the lwast time I checked it was fine. Hmm. maybe I should start checking again.

Why would I get dizzy at LUNCH tho? and not during exercise?

A lot of times getting dizzy is the result of low rather than high blood pressure. Athletes in good condition often get what is referred to as postural hypotension due to a drop in blood pressure upon standing. Staying dizzy for long periods of time as you describe may be a serious matter. Explain to your physician that this just began since you began your exercise program (if that is indeed what happened) and follow his instructions.

This may sound crazy, but while you're at it checking things out, check for any possible ear wax impactions as well. More common than you think -- especially during the winter months with dry indoor heating.

Continual lightheadedness is not normal. See a doctor.

If I were you, I'd ask Doctor to perform stress test or even better nuclear stress test. That will test you to about 90%-95% MHR and will be able to tell if you have circulatory problem.

I am quickly coming to the conclusion that it is stress. after looking at my training schedule (I monitor EVERYTHING with my polar s725) I realize that I have had FAR HARDER workouts.. and NOT gotten dizzy... YET.. somehow I always get dizzy while at work.

I think the keyword here is.. DUH
