What are the chances of using Shimano's 2003 XTR levers on the Magura disc calipers?

Are the connectors at each end of the hydraulic hose machined the same way?

I have the Julie system but I don't know if it's possible to connect between the two?

Disc makers are quite strict about the fluid you can use in their system, but I'm not sure if that would pose any problem. I can't find much on the XTR shifters and there's nothing on the Shimano site that makes it any clearer.

I like the idea of the combined lever, but has anyone any experience of the new XTRs?

Final question. Must you only use XTR on XTR ders or can you mix and match?

The 2003 stuff has not hit the stores yet. Atleast not at my LBS. If a brake system uses any of the DOT brake fluids you can use the same fluid although if you want to run DOT 5 you will need to flush the system first but DOT 3, 4 & 5.1 can all be used in the same type of system. Dot 5.1 would be the best because it has a higher tollerance to temps.
I run xt shifters and xtr derailers. You can also do it the other way around. They will even work with lx.
As to the levers, most of the brake systems have differant ways of mounting. Pin size, lever thickness and the contact point where the lever pushes on the piston may be off just enough to cause you problems. When the xtr's show up at your LBS take your levers in and compare them. If you are handy with a drill press, grinder and a file you should be able to make it work.

The chances are none. The 2003 XTR is designed to work with 2003 XTR.

Keep in mind that the 2003 XTR is rapid rise- there is some cross-compatibility with old XTR and XT.
New XTR is in the shops and looks beautiful! Jaw dropping. I don't think the shifters are smart but they certainly look expensive.
