Hi Tracksters. I recently bought a '03 Bianchi Pista as a commuter/ training bike. Too my surprise, on the outside of the seat tube near the chaistays is a yellow decal that reads: "100% chick design". What gives? I didn't ask for it, but have I unexpectedly been feminized? What does it mean? Am I riding a chick bike or a men's bike that just happend to be made by chicks. Please help, as it is, I'm not the most macho thing on 2 wheels, but I don't need to advertise that I'm riding a girls bike too. Thanks. Tim

Give your bike a girls name and ride her hard.

Or remove the sticker.

Sky Yeager, Bianchi USA's product manager, is a woman.

It's okay to ride a bike designed by a woman.

It's the 21st century man. You won't cry at art films and start craving pink, I promise.

...well, you might start craving pink. I've seen it happen before, to be honest.

personally, i think that pink bike that caferacer posted is sweet. also, I see no reason that anyone would really care if their bike is a 'chick bike' or not. ride it, have fun

I ride an 2004 Bianchi Pista (Chrome with white lettering and no world champion stripes) and I've got the "100% Chick Designed" decal on the back of the seat tube also. Does anyone know when they first started applying this decal and have they put this on all Bianchi's or only the Pista? Just curious to know if anyone has info.

It's because the head designer at Bianchi USA is a miss. I read about the decal before (I've got the same one on my Bianchi Brava), it's sort of a running joke at Bianchi I guess.

If you go to http://bianchi.com and compare the product line with the bikes at http://bianchiusa.com, you'll notice almost all the Bianchi bikes you're familiar with here in the US (Giro, Brava, Vigorelli, Eros, etc) aren't sold in Italy. The only true Italian-designed Bianchis are the Reparto Corse line.
