I normally do, but the rest of the world gets upset that all Aussies can drink more than foriegn types, we are the worlds greatest sports people, we are the best looking, our women have the biggest boobs and men the biggest penises, and that we live in the greatest country in the world.
It's only because you Aussies drink so much that you are able to believe the rest of it! :)

:eek: oh_my_freaking_lord :D . . I still contend that Mingus was a self serving whiny little girl in a big overgrown yeti costume :) .. You ever read read "beneath the underdog"? ..Remember how he said the reason he 'had' to continuously cheat on his wife . . -was because he was (uh-hem) to greatly endowed for her? Even Miles (who btw, could be immodest & still be cool), remarked that Mingus was a bit batty, a space cadet. And described him like he was Bird's slobbering loyal puppy.
Reminds me of a funny thing I heard on a commemorative that NPR held during mingus's B-day a few years back. They were interviewing a guy who used to play trumpet in mingus's band ..I'll never forget his story and what he said -(to paraphrase from memory);
''Yeah man so, I went up to Charles and told him I was sick of his ****, and I was 'out'.. Man, I tell you this guy just stood there, didn't say nothin' he just went over to his double-bass and started playin to himself.. So, I told him again; "hey man, I want my money, I'm through, I'm out" . . and then when I said that, Charles pick up his bass and he through it across the room at me, -almost hit me you know? . . So, I had to get my knife out, and I tell you I was teach that jive mother-[bleep] a lesson . . -but Clancy, he come runnin' over and..."
(end of excerpt)
They also said that he had once punched another horn player (who quit his band) in the mouth and knocked out his front teeth ..and said to him "Now, try playin' your horn" :eek: :eek: :lol:
Charles Mingus.
I appreciate him for his music. Not for the way he acted in life. But for his music. He was honestly an ******* in real life (along with MR. RICH) But I think they are both absolutely amazing musicians which pretty much takes over my thoughts about them.

+1 on Mingus AH UM. When im in a mellow state of mind, Tijuana Moods does it for me.
Love the story! Most musical geniuses are buttheads. Even the cool ones. Im sure there are peeps out there who thought the always cool late Lou Reed was a pr!ck of misery sometimes too.
