Framebuilders - Sancineto frames

I have a Sancineto that was built in 1994. It is made of Columbus Max tubing. I have seen alot of beautiful frames over the years, but THIS is a real head turner!! red pearl paint with a unique overspray design that is not overdone but really eye catching. The workmanship is very very nice. Sancineto is engraved into the bottom bracket shell and seat stay at the seat lug joint. The ride is stiff as it is Max tubing ,but still has a great deal of comfort. I agree that it is Ilalian paint which seems to be more fragile than others however that would not deter me from owning one. I MAY know of another one that is a 62cm. I believe it is Max tubing also. I'm thrilled to here that Gianni is still building. do you know how to contact him? Please e--mail with questions!! Kimble

I am wondering if you can send me any information on Gianni Sancineto you might have or know. I recently purchased a new-old-stock road frame of his, and am trying to write up something on it, but am finding that information on his frames is VERY VERY limited. I am a huge fan of hand made italian steel and I currently ride a fillet brazed custom Mauro Sannino made of Columbus STX. I'd love to see a picture of your Sancineto frame also!

Here you go...let's keep the Sancinetos all on one thread. The tubing on my Sancineto is Columbus MAX...the serial number suggests it was manufactured in 1994.

I bought it primarily for the Columbus MAX tubing, chrome fork ends and chrome rear triangle. Frankly, I know nothing (or next to nothing) about the Sancineto name...no offense to Sancineto, it's just that my collection revolves around Columbus tubing and Campagnolo equipment.

I was told by the seller that this Sancineto frame was built up for display at one time in its life, then parted out. I purchased it about a year ago. It doesn't look like it was never ridden, except maybe around a parking lot...there is no evidence of any road debris or other wear other than the slightest indents on the dropouts...you can see a bottom bracket was once installed. Someday, it will again be mated with the appropriate Campagnolo NOS group and ultimately will be ridden regularly.

this is the sort of thread that works a lot better in Classic and Vintage. Maybe that's why the post back in 2006 got no responses. I have seen some posts in C&V about this builder, maybe the thread should be moved.
