I'm looking at forks and it's darn confusing. How can you tell a good fork from a bad fork?

Also, any leads on an aero fork that will accept disc brakes?

In the QBP catalog Winwood has a carbon cross fork that looks sorta "aero" with disc brakes mounts. I have no idea about the quality.
