I did a 13' drop off a bank downtown and snapped the whole rear triangle off my Trek Vert 3 :) Make sure you land on your back tire first so it obsorbs a little impact before the front hits. Your rims should hold up, but make sure you have plebty of tire pressure, this will help keep the rims true. As for speed, i wouldnt go too fast but i would make sure you have some speed that way the impact isnt all straight down onto the ground, some of it will be foreward, this will increase the impact time and decrease the force. Have fun and good luck, make sure you take a pic or a video or something though, that way if you do **** up and wreck your bike you have something to show for it :)
land almost entirely on your back end, for 13' id keep it slow.
