Does anyone have experience with the "Ultimate Travel Bike"
from Rodriguez Cycles in Seattle?

I don't own one but go to the R&E cycles shop often and shop their selection.
The UTB is a well built bike, with good component mix, that uses rock solid frame couplers. And the price is right for a suitcase bike. It's a very classic 'diamond' framed travel bike compared to other folding bikes, and the most 'traditional' looking choice for a 'frequent flier' bike I've seen.

I think the bike uses an odd wheel size, 24" maybe? but I may be wrong on the wheel size. It's not a 26" as far as I can tell. This knocked it off my list of choice as world traveller bikes, but is probably less of an inconveinence than I think.

Willie Wier, the globetrotting bicyclist, rides one, and probably gives them a stunning endorsement in any of his biking books. I think other shops will build you a suitcase bike if you've got the lucre. I've seen a suitcase bike at Davidson cycles as well, but its more than likely full custom instead of the UTB.

thanks for the info...their website now shows 26in wheels
looks like a fair price point for a coupler bike
