hello

I'm pretty new to fixed gear riding. Actually I've never ridden a fixed gear bike in my life and would like to get started. I'm planning to use a fixed gear for training for road races, and commuting to college, as well as doing an occasional road time trial. I was pretty set on getting a Bianchi Pista from another bike shop since my LBS doesn't stock Bianchi. So I put a deposit down, but I found out yesterday that all the 06 chrome Pistas (and the green ones as well) were out of stock at the suppliers. So I was put down first on a waiting list. It wasn't certain when the next shipment would be coming in though. The shop owner said maybe early or late Feb or maybe even March. I then went down to my LBS, and the owner told me he could get me a 2005 KHS Flite 100( I think the 2006 looks kinda ugly in red) for $499.99 (The price the other shop was selling the Bianchi for). But there were only 2 50cm in stock at the supplier.

They both appear to be good bikes. I know the Binachi comes with a front brake and is chrome. But I really don't know how it handles or how the KHS handles. How are the components on both of them? I know there might be another thread on this. But I'm really confused on which one I should get. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks a lot.

Sorry. I was kinda lazy to do that. But thanks a lot. It helps. Would you wait for the Pista or would you get a KHS? It seems like a lot of people have pistas.

little extra info..
the KHS 06 Flite 100 is a little more like the Pista than the 05.
06 Flite has a threadless stem and they also got rid of the fender mounts.

It seems interesting to me that every single one of these entry level track bikes come with the exact same crank set and cog ie:

TRUVATIV TOURO TRACK CRANK 48T & SHIMANO DURA-ACE 16T FIXED COG.

Very darn interesting.... !
