Replace "Rad" with "Dirty Deeds" and you're correct.

But, yes, I've seen it.

And Earthquake. And West World. Somehow, it was cheaper to take us all to the theater than hire a babysitter.

Who has seen Satraini and Vai on the G3 tour? If you haven't you are not a true guitar player, no matter how good you are.

Always with the guitars! I've seen Jimmy Page live. If I get to see Clapton, it's all good.

I saw rad. What was better was going to pro freestyle shows. I saw Woody Itson (Hutch), Martin Aparijo (Torker), Ron Wilkerson, Brian Blyther, Dave Nouri (all 3 riding for Haro) and a few others.. those guys were awesome.

I remember when the Skyway show came through town way back when...saw Matt Hoffman when he was a new pro - saw the GT team also, but the big names weren't in the show.

Oh, and saw Rad - what a cute storyline.

I saw all those guys, but the tops was the first year of the BMX Action trick team tour, with RL Osborn (on a Redline) and Mike Buff (on a Hutch) with the Duke of Oakley as their announcer. Don't forget Mike Dominguez (on a Diamonback), Eddie Fiola (on a GT) or any of the Vans tours. All of a sudden I'm feeling nostalgic and a little bit old! lol

Yeh Rad is probably the best bmx movie made really. If you want to see a poor arse effort of a bmx movie from around the same time with Nicole Kidman in a lead role before she was really famous, go see BMX bandits. Quite terrible really.

I hope that you're joking. Maybe in the "box office" sense, but pretty much all of the Ell Bells ("Ring the Gack" or "Gloat", anyone?) beat the hell out of it.

How old are you again? hehe

My older brother saw Led Zepplin back in the day. It was a while ago though.

I saw it as a new release too. I think that was the only way to see it because it dissapeared from the theatres the next day. I happened to be sitting next to the local Ebert & Roper type guy. His review on TV the next day wasn't very good - I guess a bad story, bad acting and BMX aren't the ingredients for an Oscar. I was blown away by the movie but mostly because of the excitement of seeing the opening/closing credits (some cool freestyle stuff) on a big screen. Remember back then having a VHS at home was about as common as having an Olympic sized swimming pool in your dining room, so seeing pros ride instead of looking at photos of them in BMX Action was so fricken exciting.

The movie was filmed in Calgary and Cochrane, Alberta (Canada) - where I'm from. Just about every serious rider from back then had some sort of experience riding with Eddie Fiola or being in the movie. I'm the guy in a bright blue OP shirt next to the cereal bowl at Hell Track. Hahah.

Look closely for Rick Moliterno - current owner of Standard Bykes and probably the only guy in the movie who's influence is still strong in BMX - and he still rules.

I'm moving my bike shop to Cochrane pretty soon - maybe I'll have to sell Rad Racing T's? Hmmmm.

The movie was filmed in and around Calgary, AB, Canada where I live. Watched it religiously when I was young and impressionable.
Wish that I had a copy now.

My step sister was friends with Ell Bells, and was into the San Diego BMX scene pretty hardcore. She even married one of the stars of his flicks (lol). The only problem is, she moved to Arizona, and I barely see her now, and I can't ever remember to ask her to make me copies of his movies. Do you know where I can buy any of his movies? I've tried looking all over the internet, and I can't seem to find ANYTHING. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Daniel

Wait, wait, wait. Your sister is Dave Schilling's wife?

If so: tell her to get back on BMXBoard.

And, as for the videos, either pray that Ells Watson decides to do a massive DVD compilation project, or look on eBay.
