the savannah party? its a city wide thing. Like Mardi Gras in Lousiana...its huge in Savannah.
DW
Savannah has a huge St. Patrick's Day Celebration with a Parade and Irish culture events. A special version of green beer is served.

116 miles north on I-16 is Dublin, GA in case you really need Dublin. :D

I live in savannah, and will most likely be here for st. pattys day, it's probably one of the most amazing things ever. The whole city get's drunk, and because like new orleans there are open containers allowed on the streets, then it's quite easy to do so. They dye all the fountains in the squares green. It should warm up by then, we've been having 70 degree days lately with no clouds, so it should be fine in march. Bring your bikes down here, i'm always looking for someone to ride with.

Tony, we must get together for some hooliganism. I'm in the states until April, but when I get back I'll PM you.
I was dying for some people to ride with in IE (the irony being that the majority of my workplace cycles to work).

If your traveling for St.Pats parties, Chicago is a pretty good place to be as well, we dye (part of) the flippn river green, theres 2 parades (usually on different days to continue the party), one up north for the drunk kids, and one down south for the old schoolers. and since we have pretty good public transportation it's easy to get around if your from out of town and don't want to rent a car(or don't want to drive drunk).
Of course it's real cold, the fountain in Daley plaza last year made big green icicles on the fence surounding it (wind blew the spray).

Boston has the world's biggest St. Patrick Day parade, I thought. When living in South Boston, I did my best to avoid being at home. I lived right on the parade route.

Finally, the thread works again. Man that was annoying. Anyways, on the topic of the trackstar communications they've managed to respond to my emails about getting some parts but just keep ignoring the Ireland thing. Oh well guess I'll just have to keep nagging at the forum. Still no good word tony?

I loved heading into to Southie for St. Patty's. Every police force on the east coast shows up with pipes and kilts. It's a B getting in and out of there, though, that's for sure. Best to walk back into the city and catch a train from there than try to get into Andrew or Broadway.
nothin yet man, sorry, im workin on it though, its hard to get in contact with all of the guys because im in school for a good part of the day.il PM you when i find any info out.
yeah i hate the irish, or well I hate 6th deneration irish americans who are all into being irish and drunk and *******s. worst part of boston.

We wre told that there is racing, track events, and some serious velodrome racing on the weekend of the 17th-19th. If you are in Irland, get in touch with Graham or any of the messengers bidding on CMWC '07. They should have more info. A large group of us are going on the 15th-23rd and bunch of euro-pals will be coming as well. It should be a blast. Also, there is secret special amazing epic-metal show happening in Dublin at the same time, so boo-yah.

Sounds good and you gotta excuse IOC's hyper americanisms when he's excited.
I bought some tickets to come across on Thurs 16th for the weekend and am looking forward to a weekend of parties, drinking and racing.
Anyone know a good place to crash for the weekend?

hey there,
Graham from Dublin here. Sorry I never saw this thread or I would have posted much earlier.
We are having a weekend of racing for St. patrick's and everyone is invited!
It's gonna be from fri 17th to sun 19th
Timetable:
Fri17th: paddy's parade, alleycat followed by kickin party with messenger dj's
sat18th: Afternoon of skids, sprints, circles, footdown and hopefully some polo. 6pm, out of towners alleycat, followed by more boozin and ass-shakin and a night ride for the insomniacs.
Sun19th: A day at the velodrome, with some farewell pints afterwards...
working on sponsors at the moment, ReLoad are on board for starters, hopefully get some more tasty treats. Main prize for out of towners is the Mel Gibson logistical challenge trophy, and a win means you have to come back next year to defend it!
Should have plenty of room for couch surfing, but please get in touch first so we can confirm it. Ya can either get in touch with me personally; dublinmessenger@gmail.com, or leave your details at paddysdaymassacre@yahoo.co.uk.
Flyer and contact details available on messengers.org
Again, sorry for not getting some info up here sooner, but please come one come all, ta cead mile failte romhaimh go leir! (A hundred thousand welcomes to you all!)
See you all soon,
Graham

damn, now i wish all the more i could be there...i guess i'll just have to content myself with the largest irish festival on the west coast of the U.S. but...i suppose the guinness tastes better the closer you are to st. james' gate?

02-05-06, 05:29 AM
oh surely it does! Take a tour of the brewery and finish with a pint in the sky bar at the top of the brewery with a panoramic view of Dublin while enjoying the freshest pint of guinness in the world... Yum!!!

Alrigth, so there's many places to get a fine pint of vitamin G. Grogan's, Brogan's, Keogh's, and many more. But not to fear! For those of you who come to our fair city, I'll be sure to include a fine crawl of all the finest establishments!!!

Don't get me wrong, the view of the city up there is amazing and they are def more likely to write/draw something in the head of the pint (which is cute if you've never seen it before). One of the last days I was in Ireland me and a few of my friends went up there to see the sunset and have a few pints. Amazingly, the weather cooperated. It was a good ending to a wild trip.
