Heading up to the Island to accompany a friend from Seattle to Prince Rupert. I can't go the whole distance and need to make it a loop option. Any suggestions? I have 9 to 10 days, +/- 50-60 miles per day. Any information about the touring would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you are starting in Victoria you could cycle up to Comox and catch a ferry over to Powell River and return via the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver. Check the following site for some good information on the area.

A trip to Tofino is a must!!! It is beautiful. From Parksville, which has a great proviincial campsite by the way, head towards Port Alberni, and pass Cathdral Grove, well known for it's tall and huge trees. Climb the hill before Port Alberni, then maybe camp in Sproat Lake as there will not be much accomodation unluil you reach Uclulet and Tofino. Pacific Rim Park is worthwile to visit, perhaps rent wetsuit and boogie board while you relax your legs. You can take a boat back from Uclulet to Port Alberni for a very scenic and relaxing tour of the Broken Islands. Enjoy!!!
Also tour in the islands, like Denman and Hornby, also Saltspring and Galiano for something quieter and different. Wherever you will be you will like it.
Have a nice trip. Kati

Prepare to get wet.
Prepare to get wet? Well at this time of year the probability of rain is quite high but I will remind the previous poster that we have had forest fires last summer... Can get quite dry too...

I live on Vancouver Island, I lived in Prince Rupert.
It's called rain forest for a reason, as the spring come so does the rain, in P.Rupert that can be torrential downpours.
Tofino and the upper Van Island are subject to intense storms.
I'm not saying don't go, just prepare to get wet.
I would though, very much agree with the Gulf Island tour, very nice.
Prince Rupert? I hated it!, Queen Charlotte Island is Beautiful, P.R. is not.
Have fun! :)
