Hope this isn't a repost, but I didn't get anywhere searching the forums.
Anyway, my roadie, w/about 700 miles on it, has non-branded shimano dual pivot brakes. It has recently developed a shudder or pulsation during moderate to hard braking that can be felt through the whole bike. Anyone have any idea what to do to solve this - other than get some better brakes :)??
Thanks
C.

Be sure the bolt attaching the brake to your frame is as tight as it should be. I have a feeling the problem is actually your wheel rim, not your brake. Check to see if there are uneven brake marks around the rim. If so, try to determine if your wheel is out of true between those marks.
It could also be bearing play in the wheels, or the fork if it's the front brake.

What means "non-branded Shimano brakes"? They don't have a model name on them or they don't have Shimano's name?

You can clean the braking surface with Scotchbite. Use the White colored one for the least scratching of your surfaces. Also check your wheel for planarity and make sure that you don't have any dings or flat spots along those surfaces. remove the brake pads and clean them if they have dirt or gravel embedded. Make sure that when you lube the chain you don't over spray parts of the wheel.

Thanks for the tips - will try all until I get this worked out.
Non-branded means (to my understanding at least) that they are Shimano but not "105" or "Dura Ace" ect... Just FYI levers are 105's
