This is a follow up of an earlier post. It was a Free Spirit Pinnacle road bike a friend brought back from California when he worked at a shop out there. It had been pretty neglected but it had a cool lugged frame. The steel wheels and the 5 spd derailleur weren't worth trying to save and it didn't have a seat. It also had cheap steel brakes and levers and cottered cranks. The first thing I did was build up a set of Alex 390 mini rims to Shimano hubs with a 13-30 cassette. I replaced the crankset with a sealed B/B and 140 mm aluminum Bulletproof cranks and a 36 tooth chainring. The brakes are old Tourney with Exage levers and Tektro interrupters. The shifter is and old Altus indexed 7 spd and I added a set of 20 x 1 3/8 tires and new seat. The paint is rough in places but I'm not sure if I'm going to paint it yet. My kids are still alittle too young to ride it yet but I can tell you it's a blast to ride.

Oops! I hit the wrong key in the title--meant 20"
