Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - bike music and a stupid observation.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

so i'm a fan of downloading a song here and there (before you cry "piracy!", the only albums i've downloaded in full are ones i've purchased already), and i was looking for some songs about bikes. queen is an obvious one, then there's the ghoti hook song "i like my bike" that has a pee wee herman sample at the beginning. then....ummmm....i start to draw a blank. i found an snfu song called "drunk on a bike" or something, but not much else. then there's serendipper's suggestion of mylo: "sunworshiper", but beyond that....

...what's good bike music?

also, stupid observation...the jar of peanut butter i'm eating right now says this on the back: "allergen statement: contains peanuts". no ****?

Dude!
Peanut butter ROCKS!

They even have their own fan site. 2000 uses for peanut butter!
an excerpt:

1. Plug up the nursery's electric outlets to protect little fingers.
2. Use it to stick things if you run out of duct tape.
3. Two words: eye shadow.

Bike Messenger Boy, by The Wendy Kroys

"come over here
bike messenger boy
i like 'em real scruffy
will you be my toy?

you got a helmet full of decals
and a big zo bag..

...

i dig your tattooed arms
and your clip-on cleats
you ride when it rains
and you ride when it sleets
i'm getting turned on baby
let's get between my sheets"

Bicycle Built For Two
(Version 1)

Written By: Unknown
Copyright Unknown

There is a flower
Within my heart,
Daisy, Daisy!
Planted one day
By a glancing dart,
Planted by Daisy Bell!
Whether she loves me
Or loves me not,
Sometimes it's hard to tell;
Yet I am longing to share the lot -
Of beautiful Daisy Bell!

Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer do!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage
But you'll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle made for two.

We will go 'tandem'
As man and wife,
Daisy, Daisy!
'Peddling' away
Down the road of life,
I and my Daisy Bell!
When the road's dark
We can both despise
P'licemen and 'lamps' as well;
There are 'bright lights’
In the dazzling eyes
Of beautiful Daisy Bell!

Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer do!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage
But you'll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle made for two.

I will stand by you
In 'wheel' or woe,
Daisy, Daisy!
You'll be the bell(e)
Which I'll ring you know!
Sweet little Daisy Bell!
You'll take the 'lead'
In each 'trip' we take,
Then if I don't do well,
I will permit you to
Use the brake,
My beautiful Daisy Bell!

ok so i 'cheated' too and searched in my itunes for "bike". & this has nothing to do with bikes, really, but a good track, nonetheless. according to piccadilly records: "completely un-electronic rendition of North-East folk standard "Byker Hill" (most famously recorded by Martin Carthy)":

"Biker Walk" by Various Production

If I had another penny
I would buy another gill
I would make the piper play
The Bonny lads of Byker Hill.

Chorus
Byker Hill and Walker Shore
Collier lads for evermore.

2. The pitman and the girls are trim
They drink bumble made from gin
Then to dance they do begin
To the tune of Elsie Marley.
Chorus

3. When first I went unto the dirt
I had no coat or no pit shirt
Now I’ve gotten two or three
Walker Pit’s done well by me.
Chorus

4. Geordie Johnson he had a pig
He hit with a shovel and it danced a jig
All the way to Walker Shore
To the tune of Elsie Marley.
Chorus

Anything by This Bike is a Pipe Bomb

This Bike is a Pipe Bomb's "Murder Bike":
bicycle, bicycle, keeping me sane. i've got murder, murder, murder murder murder swimming in my brain. i know with you, i'm never gonna kill again and get the electric chair. na, na na na na na na na, na na na na na. hey hey, na na na na na.

+god is my co-pilot has a song called "bicycle gang."
+"brand new key" by Melanie ["i ride my bike, i roller skate, don't drive no car. don't go too fast but i go pretty far. for somebody who don't drive, i've been all around the world. some people say i've done all right for a girl. well i've got a brand new pair of roller skates, you've got a brand new key."]
