Are 6 Bolt hole mounts better than 4 bolt holes mounts for mounting disk breaks on a Mountain bike?

6 bolts are the international standard, shouldn't deviate without good reason.
The only good reason I know of is if you're using a Rohloff Speedhub. Due to the design of the hub, the bolts need to be at a larger radius...however, since they are at a larger radius, 4 bolts is sufficient, especially since Rohloff uses larger than normal bolts.

Cannondale, with their extensive product testing procedures, has determined that 4 bolt rotors are adequate, at least for xc riding. I have a 6 year old one with the 4 bolt expert discs, and have had no issues with it. I retrofitted a Rohloff a year ago, so I still have 4 bolt all around.

its a Cannondale LEFTY hub. Hub is in great shape, I don't see any marks on it and has a flat black finish. It is a 32 hole hub with a 4-bolt CODA disc bolt pattern. Comes with bearings. they also have a 24 hole four bolt. Are there any special things to consider if I buildeing a wheel for a lefty? I was inspired by you article to try and build one.
