My LBS has a set of the elites for 50% off. I think they hate them and want them gone. Would there be any reason for me to pick these up to use at the velodrome. I currently run rubino pro's and only have clincher rims. I am not interested in them for street use at all. Was just wondering if there would be any reason to pick these up for the drome. Thanks guys.

GET THEM! U WONT REGRETTTTT!!!!!!!!

The reason because they are selling them cheap its because maybe nobody has a freaking idea about what those things are... Usually in LBS like Performance they sell 1 or 2 tubulars per year... why buy clinchers if they last a half of a tubular. If u are luckly enough u can ride a set of tubulars like for 6 months or more . EVEN one of the best clinchers last a few months only. Besides tubulars are faster rolling than clinchers. So my advice? BUY THEM or tellme where r u to get them 4 myself hehehe... I dont have a sh***T here where i live, People not even know campy and im not kidding hehehe...

I remember I showed a 16 T, Ti. campy fixed gear cog to a sells guy at Performance and the guy asked me if it was from a 10 speed or a 9 speed cassette???????. Then I jusnt imply, "u have no idea what this is right?" - silence... go to ask to the mechanic store and even the mechanic from the store had never seen one of those in his cruel lifetime. So what else u can spect???? BUY THEM!!!! :) 50% off darn!.. lucky u!

A buddy of mine commutes on his Tufo CycloCross Tub/Clinchers.

He L O V E S them.

You have to take what they recommend for rim size as truth.

When I find some on sale, I'm get'n some.

Yeah, I'd agree with the other posts and say get them. They'll roll faster and more supply than yr Rubinos. No direct experience of riding Tufos tubular/clinchers but have used their tubs for track for some time and have been happy with them. They're well made.
