Bicycle Mechanics - Should I upgrade the hubs?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
If there is too much weight combined with to much speed, would those factors be bad for a regular hub with some wear already? Thanks

Hubs can be serviced, adjusted, and even rebuilt. Ride them 'till they die.

Your question is pretty unclear, and "too much speed" isn't necessarily a problem for hubs... and you might tell us waht sort of hubs you have, how you expect them to be wearing out, what your rims are and whether they're worth rebuilding used rims with new hubs, etc.
But in the meantime I'll just say that it's generally not worth upgrading hubs, because that requires rebuilding the wheel. Unless you have awesome rims. But even in that case, as Bobby Lex said, don't replace the hubs until they're totally dead.
