Hi bikers, I'm considering buying a Trek 520 but was wondering if the hub spacing is 130mm or 135mm? The reason for my curiosity is whether my lightweight wheelset from my current bike (130mm) will fit on the Trek? Happy Riding!

It's 135 mm and has been that way since the mid or late 1990s. When touring, it makes for a much stronger wheel.

If you want to move permanently a lightweight wheelset to the 520, you could buy a longer axle and install a 5 mm spacer on the left side of the wheel. Then redish the wheel. Voilą, a "new" lightweight wheel on the cheap.

Only problem is if you want to switch the wheel back and forth between a 130-mm and a 135-mm bike.
