I got my hands on one of these hardshells.
Absolutely the best piece of gear I've used in ages.
Throws light like crazy and I'm bone dry in torential rain and snow.

I got a jogging belt and opened the length and it wraps my back pack as well.
A police officer asked to trade jackets. lol

Blue lights wouldn't endear me to the local police, too bad they aren't another color. No back pockets, either.

Hmmm....blue lights....thats a no no in most places. Sides I already have peopel who pull over when I come down the street.

Although it may not be legal to install blue lights on an automobile (or maybe a bicycle), I doubt many jurisdictions have a law against blue flashing clothing. I really doubt that a cop would stop you for having a jacket that flashed blue light.

Ditto what others said about blue, I think amber or green is better. Besides, amber and green LEDs are bright enough to get notice on cloudy days.

Sounds like an interesting idea, but I am sure it would interfere with my night vision. My two very bright rear blinkies are positioned where I can't see them at all, even though people behind me tell me that they can see me half a mile away. My headlights give out no light directly in my direction, so after a few minutes my eyes can see quite well on a dark rural road. If my jacket were flashing, I suspect that my eyes would not adjust enough to see the road ahead as well.

The blue can be seen for ages, and is apparently the best colour for the technology. The lights themselves are these super thin strips...not LED bulbs, they slip out for cleaning the jacket. Yes there are pit zips which I have used as this thing is windproof. Except for some light thrown onto my arms I can't say I ever seem them myself unless I look down at them. I have managed to take off a couple layers of cold riding gear with this shelll though. It's doubtful that you wil have an issue with the police...lol it was a police officer that wanted mine for himself. Different strobe than the ones on cars. 5-'O' is trying these for their bike units in a few cities I've been told.

I feel like sometimes you can attract too much attention. Two well placed lights work for me.

Blue is the best color in fog or white smoke.

Their was a case somewhere in the south (I think) that a motorist was arrested for using a blue light as a safety light when his car broke down. He was convicted and appealed to federal court. The federal judge overturned the conviction, judging that a state does not have the right to prohibit citizens from using whatever color of safety light they wish, as long as the person does not use such a light for impersonating the police (such as by pulling someone over).

If anyone knows the state, case # or any other detailed info, please post it. I have been trying to track down the case documents without luck.

These flash at two beats per/sec and in NO WAY look like police strobes.
Whole different lighting technology.... will not be confused.
