what are ten different items of food that are good to eat before a bike ride other than banannas?
Eat anything you like!!
Just try to avoid foods that are too spicy, or too fatty, or unusual to your normal diet.

I believe Mr Freddy would recommend you eat 1/2 pound of lard for every 15 minutes you'll be riding.
Why do you need to eat ten different things (other than bananas) before riding a bike? Surely seven or eight items would be sufficient?
Is this a superstition? A cultural thing?
Oatmeal, with some raisons and cranraisons tossed in :)

i don't want to eat 10 things in one day, I want to eat one thing one day but something different each day not just one banana 7 days of the week.
If you're cycling, you should probably eat more than just one banana in a day. Even if you are not cycling, you should eat more than just one banana per day!
Best thing is to follow the USDA food pyramid and try to eat primarily carbohydrates with a modest amount of protein and minimal fats. Try to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables so you get your vitamins. For cycling, if you are cycling for less than an hour, you don't need to eat anything special before or during your ride. For longer rides, you will probably want some sort of carbohydrates like fruit, energy bars, Fig Newtons, trail mix, gatorade, etc. Eat something that you like to eat.

I'll say it again ... eat whatever you like! There is no magic food that will provide you with all kinds of speed and energy.
Just keep away from the simple sugars, very spicy, and heavily fatty stuff.
BTW - a banana is only 80 calories, so it won't get you very far.
