I am slogging about in search of a digital kitchen scale. I am guessing that a max capacity of 2-3 kgs will work for me, as long as I can make accurate measurments in grams. Any advise on this matter will be appreciated.

Try a digital postal scale. These are usually around $20. I've found them to be much more accurate and easier to use (and cheaper) than 'kitchen' scales. I found mine at Sam's Club, but I've seen them in other stores.

I second the digital postal scale. We got ours from stamps.com. measures to 1/10th of a gram. Forget what the max is.

we have one made by Salter. 2kg or 5lb max with 1 gram resolution. It was under $30.

Many thanks for the excellent suggestions. I will be "going postal" with the scale.
