Help ol' grandpa Brean (MSNGR) with his broken hand and his inability to touch or dress himself. He can't even whipe his own ass. That poor guy. We will be passing the hat to raise some money for a live-in house-boy to help with the ass-whiping.

ass-whiping.
you forgot to add a "p" in 'whiping'...or was that an extra 'h?' My Msngr-sense tells me it was the former...

ha ha.

i was going too fast through traffic and swerved around a potentially braodsiding truck. i hit some gravel near a construction site (an actual site, nerds, not something on the intermaweb) and went sliding, i think into one of the barriers. ironic, eh?

the main injury (besides pride), was my wrist/thumb socket (ask salome, she's got all the edumacation on this) breaking. therefore, my tendon pulled the thumb out of the broken socket permanently, at least w/o surgery (pins and wires and lots of not so fun pain). so, i've had 1 surgery so far. with at least one moe coming.

let me know if you want to hear more of the sob story. it gets better. or worse.

injured pride can be easily healed with alcohol. you just have to finish your beer before you start a new one.

If it weren't for Bre-anne, I'd probably still have two six packs of 'gansett left in my fridge.

this will undoubtedly turn into that scene in jackass where the guys tries to get people to help him button his pant bc he has two broken arms. i can already see MSNGR asking, no scratch that, demanding help buttoning his pants over and over again....

Love to be there but I just got released from St. Vincents ER myself. Some idiot sideswiped me on Varick and W. Housten today. Huge lump on the head and alot of bruises, but nothing broken. Good thing I wasn't wearing my helmet, that thing would have been destroyed!

I'll be back at work by Wed. I'm just pissed off I got released so late tonight that I can't even pick up my pain meds. All the pharmacies in my ghetto are long since closed. Time to hit the whiskey.
My head / eyebrow is so swollen I look like I belong in the neanderthol exhibit at the Natural History Museum. Ack.

ah, bring michele down. we don't bite (though we have chased a few significant others away with debaucherous attitudes).

mareesha, that blows. RICE, rest, ice, compression, and elevation. make sure you compress your head a lot. a lot.

the rest of the sob story:
on the way back from DC, i left my lock and chain on the bus.

yesterday, on the way to work (as a walker! --6 tags all day), i tried to adjust my phone holster with the paw. i guess i didn't do it right. lost the phone. luckily (?) i had my old nextel lying around and it still worked. until i ran out of battery today. should have found that charger before going to work.

more to the story later. i just got run #3 for the day. yay.

i have a pretty basic unlocked phone that you can use if you have a phone that uses SIM cards and can ask yr provider for a new one (they'll usually give you one for free). PM me if you want it.

That sucks B. I have a spare mini Ulock you can use. Not much help for work I know, but better than nothing. Let me know if you need it.
I'm walking tomorrow if it kills me. No way I'm staying home another day.
Wow do I feel stupid for not wearing my helmet, I'd be back at work right now if I had been.

Wow do I feel stupid for not wearing my helmet, I'd be back at work right now if I had been.

This is why I wear a helmet aaaallllll the time. It just isn't worth it. Plus, my helmet messes my hair up in a way that I actually like once it's done being sweaty. When I don't wear the helmet, the hair's all flat & kinda boring.

Yeah, and it keeps me from dying.

Good to see everyone and have a nice drink after work.

TRaffic Jammer
01-25-06, 08:25 AM
LOL did you chain him?

Msngr
01-25-06, 01:48 PM
thanks to everyone here, team puma, steve the greek, and roscoe and trackstar, of course. ch0mb0 gave me a bell. no, not that kind --the kind deli's used to have on the counter.

best story of the night (alluded to above):
wangster loans me his chain and lock. after a bit of key confusion, he hands the key to me and says, "whatever you do, DON'T LOSE THIS KEY." i said, "no sweat. i'm going over to my bag right now and hooking it onto the interior clasp thingy, sweetheart." ok, i didn't say sweetheart. whatever.

short story short, i lost the key from one end of the room to the other. i think i am just used to my key being on a string and attached to me, and i just let go of it. it must have been pretty funny to an outsider, though. cuz i was dumping everything out of my bag thinking i might have dropped it in there. old candy kisses, sharpies, pens, receipts, condoms, pennies, tools, aspirin. everywhere.

by the way, everyone, i got my phone back.
