This is one of the clunkers I use for winter commuting. I call it the Sonic Surfer. It was originally a 1964 Sonic Flyer, but I modified it.
Note the water ski transformed into the large and elegant rear carrier. And, yes, those are Christmas lights around the rear carrier for the season of short days and long dark nights.
It is a goofy bike, but a fun thing to break up the tedium of winter. It handles great in the snow and I am not concerned with road salt damage. The step-through top tube protects my nards from damage in ice-road crack-ups too.
I am KING of the neighborhood boys when I use big ice boulders as ramps and catch big air with this baby "that was COOL, Dad! Do it again!"

Not that it matters......It's still a SWEEEEETTT Ride!!! :D
I think the ladies will agree that mine is a very sexy machine. That is why I had to add the extended water ski carrier on the back. There is room back there for two ladies plus a twelve pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon (to go with the deep fried Twinkies sprikled with powdered sugar).
VROOOOM VROOOM VROOOOOooooooM! "Hang on, gals, I'm not sure how fast this thing will go....
HAHA, nice. I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for that bike this winter.
Cya around, my Minnesota neighbor.

The banana seat may be a possibility.
Tassles? Well.... I don't want anybody to see me riding it and think I am a fruitcake or anything.
:D It would sound real good with a couple of playing cards in the spokes:thumbup:
Hey I have an idea!! How about a little "RACK SURFING"!! Yeah! You could get one of the neighborhood kids to try to "surf" on that waterski while you cruise down the street. Then when they get good enough you could go flying over one of those "ice boulders" and see if they can ride it out!! That should separate the real men from the boys!! HEHEHE :D
Okay, but just remember,You started it first!
Haven't mounted up the studded tires yet, but here is my winter ride.
