I have just invested in a set of Look P357 Pedals and some Pearl Izumi shoes. Last night on my ride I noticed that the instep of my left foot was rubbing up against the crank. Is there a problem here? I moved the cleat over as far as it can go. Do they sell an "extender" of some sort? Or is it my fat feet and I am just out of luck?
I hate to say this but the sole of your shoes may be off. There should be sufficient room for side to side adjustment.
Contact the place where you purchased and address this question. Please be very polite as the store didn't make the shoes or is responsible.
If nothing can be done then it is best you contact Pearl Izumi direct.
Again be very kind over the phone.
Why do I keep saying be nice. Because far too many customers love to threaten and get very insulting over the phone and in person. Some comapnies may all together not deal with your issues and in the end you suffer. Just be kind and polite.

Actually it may be a case of shoe/pedal incompatibility. I personally have Sidi/SpeedPlay shoe pedal combo, and recall a note in either of the 2 boxes they were packaged in explaining this particular type of incompatibility. In the case of the SpeedPlay pedals, they do offer pedals with longer axles to avoid this problem. Hopefully you purchased the shoes/pedals from the same place, and can go back and plead your case. Of-coarse a longer axle then gets in to the argument of a greater 'Q' factor, (The smaller the better) which is a whole nother can of worms... Good Luck! ;)
Very true with Speedplay. Many issues there that customers end up suffering.
Either way call the place where you purchased with your concern.
