I just moved to Georgia, just outside Atlanta. I haven't even tried to ride yet. I used to ride at 5:30 / 6:00 AM in 70 degrees. Here it's 30 to 40 degrees, and it's often raining. The only bike clothing I own is shorts, a short sleve jersey, and cleats.

I looked through this forum, and also asked a guy at church, and I think I know what I need. I have $200 - $300 to spend. I came up with this:

Canari Classic Cycle Tight:

Nashbar Knee Warmer:
http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?sku=4907

Nashbar Wet Weather Sock:
http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?sku=7642

Nashbar Long Sleve Basic Essential Jersey:
http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?sku=15778

Pearl Izumi Microsensor Skull Cap:
http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?sku=9934

Fox Incline Gove:
http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?sku=16228

Canari Matrix Extreme Jacket
http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?sku=15482

I'm also getting some clear sunglasses and a new cheapy healmet. It comes out to about $275.

Is the jacket too much, too little, not needed?

The product selections are made almost entirely on price and Nashbar's descriptions. I have no brand loyalty - I haven't been riding very long. Thank's to anyone that can offer suggestions. I can't wait to get back to ridding.

Looks like a reasonable selection for cool wet weather. The tights maybe a little cold if it in the 30s and raining but the knee warmers should help with that. The "wet weather socks" are not water proof but they do appear to be windproof and help keep your feet warmer than wool socks alone. Still I recommend a shoe cover/bootie over the socks. The shoe cover will help keep your shoes dryer and cleaner and they wont reduce the wiggle room in your shoes which it is important to maintain in cool tempertures.

Thanks. I added toe warmers. Hopefully I'll have everything by this weekend!
