For the past month and a half, on my days off, it rains. It either rains or there is ice on the ground. I try to ride on my work days, but due to my varying schedule, that is near impossible. Today it was sunny. I worked. Tomorrow it will be foggy/icy possible rain. I'm off again. :(
I either have a bad bad cloud following me, or somebody put a curse on me. Somebody is trying to keep me from riding. Is it you M-R--N? Did you curse me?
Like the new Avatar - and I feel your pain on the nice days on the work days. Today was the first day in over a week I have been able to get out on mine. Made up for it with a 40mi'er though. Tomorrow - nice (work), Thrusday - rain (off till 5:30). uhg.

Thanks! You and Hi565 gave me the idea!!! :) Hope you don't mind...
It sounds like you might have been cursed too. If it drizzles, I decided that I might take out the beater bike instead. I have to ride. It's been too long. A couple of days ago after work I took the bike out for a little while, not much - not enough to satisfy the need, you know what I mean?

unless it's a steel bike, i say go for it - especially over rocks it increases the challenge factor! :)

Ride in the rain. It's no big deal if you're dressed for it.

STEEEEEEEL!........
Rust and Dust. The beater bike.

My bike's steel. I ride it in the rain anyways. Wipe it down after you're done and spray some WD-40 on the bits that would rust like the braze ons.
Holy crap the new avatar is hot. Did you do that in photoshop? I feel your pain. Except my problem is I still haven't gotten my parts from wheel world. They were supposed to come in 2-5 days and its been 13 days. I called the customer service today, and the guy put me on hold 5 separate times. Then after all that he said he would call me back, what kind of customer service says they'll call you back? he never called me back, and when I call again at about 6 oclock the guy tells me the internet store division closed at 5 oclock. ARG! Man, as soon as I get my parts Im going too the top of montara.

Toooooo late! Rust and dust, there's a reason for that. I just let it be. That's the bike with the cracked frame anyway. But my other bikes are treated like the babies that they are .

Ok it looks weird like someone altered it, maybe its just the way you took it.

Weird? How is it weird? Look at your sig, now that's weird. :p
Really, though, what's weird about it? What makes it look altered?
The avatar looked like it had been vectored too me. Nvm now I can see it hasn't.

Excuse me but I'm computer illiterate. What's vectored?
Vector art- its a kind of art where a picture is made by solid sections filled with different colors. Its hard to describe heres an example, there are no lines its all made up by sections of color.

If it's not raining, ride your bike to work.

I tried that. They won't let me keep my bike in the warehouse (safety hazard - "someone might trip over it"- psshhh!) I'd have to sneak into the walk-in fridge....I wouldn't think that would be good for the bike. And I won't let it stay outside where all the bums hang out.

Use the beater and lock it to your boss' axle. After a few days you'll either be fired or allowed to store it inside.

Maybe they'll let you store it on the roof ;). I did that at another place I worked.

Yeah, his fork isn't the only thing wiggling around in his head tube. I'm surprised he hasn't suffered a concussion from his brain sloshing around in that gap in his skull.

Touche Siu Blue. I believe the score is 1-all in this game with Siu Blue leading 10,000 sets to none.

Siu Blue Wind

A stock Truvativ LE riser XC 6061 T6. I'd like to start some upgrades but then nobody else has a stock bike, so I might as well just leave it be..... :p

I put a Koski bar on the old Trek I just made roadworthy. The color and bend look quite similar to your bar.

You should do like I do when it rains and stuff. Sit around eating unhealthy food and watch TV...or get on BF...or both!

Okay. That's it. I give up. I'm having an attitude right now and I'm putting the bike back on the rack and I'm not going to ride for a while. I'm mad. Real mad.
So the weather is perfect. I mean P-E-R-F-E-C-T. My favorite trail is two towns over so I have to take the truck. I pack up my gear, pack up the bike, get dressed, start the truck.
Put it into gear, release the brake, and nothing. NOTHING!!!!!!! The truck won't move. Sure it goes into gear and when I pull the brake release it releases but the truck won't go. Like someone put blocks behind my tires. So I check. Nothing. Try it again. Nothing. Put it into neutral and try to push it. Nothing. Put it into gear again. I hear it shift and feel the truck want to move. Nothing. Open the hood, thinking the brake fluid is down and not releasing. It's full. Nothing.
That's it. I realize what just happened. I've been officially effing MERTONized. Effff!
I have to say Effff because I don't swear. But I wish I could because I'm sure it would feel better. Dang it!

How much do you weigh?
I ended up sooooo mad (I don't get mad too easily) that I took my beater and went psycho messenger style and ripped up the downtown streets till my asthma kicked in. I went home, exausted enough to settle down and think about the truck.
The brake on one side seized. I spent the afternoon taking it apart and getting it released. Got fluid all over me. But hey. I did it. I took apart the brake assembly and put it back together. Took it in to the shop my friend has to have it inspected. I did good! Everything is fine now. The attitude is gone. I took the bike off the rack and I'm going to see how the weather is on Saturday. :D Wish me luck!

I like the avatar. Is that the view when your bike's on the truck's rack? How far is two towns over? I'd have thought you could just ride over there and get on the trail. Might be a longish ride, but hell, might be worth it. BTW, good job on the brakes. I'd have just sold the car.

Funny I could work on a car but I'm too afraid to work on my bike  .
I was laying down next to my bike one day and that was the view. So I hurried and got the camera.....
Two towns over is 25 minutes driving.
