Foo - I hate it when people change their avatars

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I get so used to seeing that picture and associating it with that person that when someone changes their avatar is takes me awhile to start recignizing their posts.
the most dramatic incident was awhile ago but i still think of the simpsons dude every time i see mertons name.
If I had a red star, I would have an avatar that would stay there for a while.

why?
Well I have a lot of pictures that I really like that I would like to resize and put them as my avatar. eg. My bike. I have tried to resize them by 64x64 but It doesn't look all too good and they are extremely small. I'm not all that fussed about it anyway...

Mine's been the same for a few years now. Maybe I should change. :)

i used to associate the picture of a dog and the word 'bite' with lowCel's posts. His avatar is a picture of a dog, with the words underneath "yes, she does bite"
and FLAK's avatar is of a very similar dog, with the words "if only she could bite"
both have red stars...
i get confused..

I tend to agree...its frustrating when you get used to an avatar, then it suddenly changes on you and you don't immediately "recognize" that person.

I find animated avatars to be rather annoying.
But then again, I'm easily distracted.

You know, I just noticed for the first time that your avatar was the Cannondale logo. I always thought it was some kind of Pacman thing before. Oh well, learn something new every day, eh? :D

You probably want to follow the path back to this image's location and get permission, but I thought it was a funny pizza pic.

I have now changed my avatar. Before anyone jumps the gun and yells at me for implying that the Irish are a bunch of drunks (read my earlier post), i was kidding about being a drunk, and i was born and raised there.

Being able to personalize your UserID (not to mention sigs) is one of my favorite things about online forums. I'm constantly coming across images which make me think, "Hey, that would make a cool avatar..." I'm constantly changing it. No need to get yer panties in a bunch, this is just teh intarweb - I don't give a **** if I'm recognized, anyway.
I tend to agree...its frustrating when you get used to an avatar, then it suddenly changes on you and you don't immediately "recognize" that person.
that's why i change mine. I piss everyone off, change my avatar and then start the whole deal over again. :D
Heh, heh, heh... The avitar does nothing to change the personality!

Sorry, just changed mine again. This should be the last change for a while. You people kept scaring me with the Copy Right talk.

Heeeey. I've seen that pic before. In the Museum of Asian Arts in SF. I remember that distinctively because of the roof.....

I hate it when two people have the same Avatar. I think Max-a-mil and someone else both use that grumpy looking cartoon face.

Mine change with my overall moods.
The Old Skool skeletor one was when I was feelig like an old man....I caught myself one day throwing a "when I was your age" :(
Now, I'm just on a weird streak, but that's prety normal for me....maybe someday I'll make another similar themed avatar...or worse ;)

You must really hate me. I change mine all the time. Usually when I get back from a ride with some nice photos. Like this one...from a few days ago.
Mine changing with my mood.... I am really happy right now :D
Actually mine won't be changing anytime soon... after I finally decided to take a little bit of initiative!

I agree, you get used to people by thier picture, now another anoying thing is to try and reduce your pic, so it can fit..hummm.. I didnt know my lips were so thin, oh wait, they're not, I guess they are not 64 by 64 pixel sixe.. now is this how I look when people squint? hehe
