Foo - Converting MOV into MPEG without the Watermark?

I'm having trouble removing the watermark messages from a movie in Windows Media Player. I've taken a video with my camera, and downloaded it onto the computer and it opens with Quicktime. I want to edit the video in Windows Movie Maker, but it doesn't seem to work with a Quicktime file. I tried opening it with Windows Media Player, it works, but it comes up with watermark (writing). It says, PICVideo up near the top of the video and a url down the bottom. It pretty much ruins the video and is very annoying.

Is there a program or something that removes the messages (watermark) or Is there some kind of Quicktime movie editing program? I haven't found one yet.

How are you downloading the video from the camera to the computer? Windows Movie Maker can capture the video directly to the computer without any compressions or conversions as an AVI file: Download Video to Your Computer with Windows Movie Maker 2 (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/getstarted/downloadvideo.mspx).

I just connect the USB cable to the camera and push PC on the camera, then it comes up with a list of things:

- Print the pictures
- View a slide show of the images
- Copy pictures to a folder on my computer
- Edit pictures
- Lauch OLYMPUS program (came with camera)
- Open folder to view files
- Take no action

When it comes to videos, I select Open folder to view files, and when it comes to downloading pictures on the computer I go with Copy pictures to a folder on my computer. When I have both videos and pictures, I just go with Open folder to view files

I don't that Windows media supports Quicktime. You'll have to get either a video conversion program or a QT editor.

Look to your camera set-up feature to remove the watermarks (RTFM) ;) :D

Its not the camera I dont think, it would be the conversion to .mpeg. The default is .mov which is Quicktime file, so it seems that quicktime dosn't like you trying to convert it, so it puts the watermark in. Hmm, I wonder if there is a program to convert them, unless there was an option on the camera to change the format to mpeg when it saves the video.

Nah I don't think you can. It all is very confusing, I know. A Quicktime editor would be great. I found one on the net, but you have to pay :(

Yeah thanks Ranger. I downloaded this thing called Bink and Smack Rad Video Tools. It worked, no watermark no nothing. It converted a MOV into a MPEG, but theres one problem... It ended up being 252mb in size. The orginal quicktime movie was only 16mb. Weird...
