SO the other day on the mtb trail I am skipping gears for the last time. I think the chain is all stretched to s**t. It was.

Turns out, you guessed it, ALL the sprokets are worn to hell too. New chainrings for the LX crank and a new 9 spd cogset with that chain thank you very much. Cha-ching! 150 with a tune.

To get over that pain of my neglect, I opted to swap off my green Michelins for some pretty red Panaracer Fire XCs to mach my frame, and to get something more mud oriented for a muddy race here in PA this weekend. Ahhh, I feel better already...

Oh yeah, cha-ching - 210.

You can't ride dollar bills, so spend them!

Only $210?

Imagine just how far that would go servicing a car. You've got out of it very cheaply. Better go spend some more at the bike shop.:D

That's an awesome quote media creations, and sadly true. I live on a college campus, and I honestly think some of these people would drive their cars from their dorm to the athletic facility if there was a street there. Me, I walk anything less than 1 mile, then it get's to be worth biking to.

For a whole replacement thats pretty decent. For dh parts of the same parts you could spend upwards of 600$ with no installation.

I don't even drive so money that would normally go to car payments and insurance all go to my bike and school :)

it's too late now but usually its cheaper buy a new crankset (lx or xt) that to replace 2 rings.
