Books, Movies, Music & Entertainment - bands you missed/ reunions you'd like to see

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

For the reunions let's try to keep it to bands whose members are still alive, even if they'd kill each other if they were in the same room again :D

Talking Heads - Wow. What an amazing band. They broke up before I was old enough to see them.
The Smiths - Will probably never happen. Too much bad blood.
The Stone Roses (original lineup)- I saw them after Reni quit. Close but no cigar.

Shows I missed that I will always regret not going to:

My Bloody Valentine/ Dinosaur Jr.
The Sundays

When I was in highschool (late 80's - early 90's), my favorite bands were Bad Brains, Dinosaur Jr. and Dead Kennedys.

I think it was 2002 when the Bad Brains (with HR) came to town. I knew a local DJ, and got some free tickets to the show. Last year, Lou Barlow and J Mascis started jamming again, and I saw the reunited Dinosaur Jr. at the same place (Cat's Cradle, Carrboro NC). These shows are still in the top 5 of the "best live shows" I've ever seen.

Now, I'm waiting for Jello Biafra to get together with his old band and have a similar 'reunion' tour... but I'm not holding my breath.

- I would also love to see King Crimson with Greg Lake, Genesis with Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd with Roger Waters, a Fairport Convention reunion, Robert Pollard playing with the 1994 Guided by Voices lineup; and some old local bands: Polvo, Squirrel Nut Zippers and Whiskeytown (Ryan Adams).

I would've payed a lot of money to see any of the Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds concerts.
I think the Nirvana Unplugged in New York wouldve been excellent too.
Pink Floyd (i was in ireland during Live 8, my friend was thinking of going to london for the day, i told him he was nuts to try it)

I had a free ticket to see REO Speedwagon in 1987 (they were huge then, remember?), all I had to do was give my friend a ride to the show. So, of course, I wrecked my truck, and couldn't go...

Cracker, Midnight Oil.

Arc Angels - Still have the ticket to their "last concert" in the 90's. Now that they are reunited, still have yet to make it to a concert.

I had a tickets to other bands that had their last concert in Houston. Sublime, wound up getting work out of town. But the really LAST concert in Houston was Blind Melon. Got sick and couldn't go.

That'll happen on the 12th of Never, You should check out his collaboration with The Melvins, though, "Never Breathe What You Can't See".

How many of The Commodores are still kickin'? I think old school Guns N' Roses would be kinda cool. STP, too. Either one would be better than Velvet Revolver. Kilgore would be sweet, too. Sepultura with Max. Hmm, that's all I can think of, at the moment.

I still kick myself for not going to see Concrete Blonde when they were in town a few years ago. It was free or ridiculously cheap, too! I wish I could've gone to Ozzfest, Tom Petty and John Fogerty/Mellencamp last year, too.:(

I saw it on ABC, and again on the web. I don't know about you, but I don't think 4 songs in 25 years is a very good reunion.

Furthermore, I once started a thread on this topic: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=130635

I actually saw Spinal Tap when they toured back in 1992. They opened up for Queen's "We Will Rock You" film at a local shed/amphitheater. Tap totally kicked @ss!!!

BTW, I'd like to see Husker Du get back together and blow the roof off of some 200 capacity place.

There was this band out of Cheyenne, Wy called "Sidhe". They broke up, but I'd like for them to get back together and tour the world. The guitarist "Daz" was phenomenal.
