i'll be in california buddy, me an "jackcasey" both, for those lifetime shows. plus, if i did go, i'd have to get in your giant mess.bag about halfway through and take a nap with my bike while you kept riding...then after about 3 redbulls and a couple clif bars i would finally have the strength to crawl out and call a cab.

I'd be up for that another weekend... My friend and I were planning to do that trip anyway, so if schedules work out, we might as well go with some other people to.

whoa. i'll be down next weekend, too. yes, i was going to go round trip. this would be the second time. it's about a 120 mile round trip last time to atlantic city. it took about 8 and a half hours for me. on my track bike. 40-14 gear ratio. it was a while ago, so i don't remember if i wanted more or less gear inches. yeah, it was fun. i'm no stallion. but i get it done. to everyone that said next week. i'm calling you out later.

-jason

oh, and you kids in cali have fun. and you suck for getting more lifetime.

I'm totally down but work/band schedule doesn't seem to want to help me out much anytime soon.

when the weather turns nicer, though, spontanious ocean city trips all summer long.

I cannot abandon my stomping grounds due schedule.

Sound like a summer project to me.

'xactly. just keep it respectful. i just remembered that the brige (ben franklin) is still locked. we'll have to take the speedline into jersey. damn. yeah, next weekend. pm me if you're down.

-jason

are they ever going to unlock that bridge? or will they just keep it locked until all the terrorists are dead... ever. I miss riding out there, it's a good view of the city.

xthugmurderx
01-27-06, 11:38 PM
i think it has more to do with the season (or at least the season it should be) i dunno, i got a job going out to camden the week after it actually snowed, but it was locked/snowed in, but that was in december. i dunno. i blame jersey.

alright, has anyone of us done this before of know of a route that's simple to follow? i'm looking at routes that different clubs have taken and the ms150 route and they seem extremely complicated, like some with turns every block, i figure we need to be concerned formost with simplicity, any thoughts?

xthugmurderx
02-01-06, 06:02 AM
when i rode to ac i just took black horse pike the whole way out there. for reals. i dunno about oc though, i imagine it would probably be about one extra turn. no idea though.

-jaosn

soyboy
02-01-06, 02:13 PM
yeah, atlantic city to ocean city is about ten miles and super easy, when i lived in ocean city i used to ride it all the time, so black horse pike it is then?

xthugmurderx
02-01-06, 03:35 PM
sounds like a plan. ice cup got postponed. now we just decide whether we go round trip or one way.

how would we go one way? how would we get home? ****, I keep forgetting I have class saturday, but anyway, you should make this ride like, a monthly thing, Id love to come one time when I'm actually free.

But I think one way is more safe...especially if we'd be riding home in the dark.

xthugmurderx
02-01-06, 06:01 PM
i have no qualms either way, but a dude and his friend are looking to be back for something on sunday. consensus take it away!

soyboy
02-01-06, 09:11 PM
there's no reason not to just ride home sunday morning, or if some of us want to ride home and others want to hop the train the train station in atlantic city is as soon as you get into atlantic city and you're allowed to take bikes on all trains, i think you're allowed a bike on the njtransit buses unless they go on a highway which the ones between philly and ocean city/atlantic city do, so anyone that wants to take the train is more than welcome to and the rest of us could go from there, no big deal wither way, i may be talking too much

nickmaimone
02-01-06, 09:19 PM
I say we bring camping gear, if anyone has one of those huge awnings with the 4 legs, that covers like, 15x15 feet, and bring sleeping bags and stuff and chill under there or something. thatd be so amazing.

nickmaimone
02-01-06, 09:20 PM
we could make a fire and stuff.

soyboy
02-02-06, 04:27 PM

so now it's just me, as i don't know the route i guess i'll have to think about it, this sucks...i wish others weren't so ready to drop out, i really was looking foward to this, i might try it alone tomorrow, probabbly bettter, whatever

xthugmurderx
02-04-06, 02:25 PM
sorry, i rode out to valley forge with airbud. got soaked and cold.

ps...(for the ones who dropped out and sat at home today) just because it's wet/cold/snowing/whathaveyou, doesn't mean your bike has to stay inside. I honestly hate it when kids try to be down with couriers, but won't sack the **** up when it's ****ty out. look the part. act the part. don't half-ass it. and soyboy. in the future. it'll happen.

i hate riding when it's gross out and i don't have to. sometimes it is fun to ride in the rain. but you have to be in the mood. besides....couriers get paid to ride in ****ty weather. i am curious by what you mean when kids "try to be down with couriers."

ps keep warm and don't go gettin sick jason, winter is supposed to come back with a vengeance. (sp?)

xthugmurderx

winter is supposed to come back with a vengeance. (sp?)

that's what i hear. i'm stoked. it's about time. haha. i'm nuts.

and i meant (honestly) the kids that look like couriers, intentionally or not, (you know what i mean as far as that goes...) and hang out with couriers (or at least try to) but won't ride on days like today. it just makes me mad to see the difference in quantity of bikes from one day to the next. case in point, the barnes and noble at 18th and walnut. there are always the same 2 fixed gear bikes. everyday. unless it's crappy out. (it's nothing personal, i don't even know who rides those bikes) i guess it's cool to have more spots to lock up when it's raining, at least.

kinda the same but different is/are the kids who want to go riding, and have people to ride with, but won't cause it's crappy out. that gets me too.

Yo, that sounds like a great Saturday. I would have loved to done that, but, alas, I was in a class all day to learn how to have a baby.

What did you think of that ride? I almost died on that one hill, but otherwise, I think that trip is a rather nice ride.

xthugmurderx
02-04-06, 07:27 PM
? that one hill? the "wall" is a cakewalk. i didn't that was it. it's steep, but really short. the one in conshohocken that goes from fayette up to ridge pike is way worse. it was easy. worse on the way down than the way up though. as are most hills. fun ride, no matter how you cut it. so how far away are you from fatherhood?

I'm talking about that one on the way back into manayunk, i forget the road name. And yea, I'm talking about the way down. About halfway down, I gave up the thought of maybe having to stop suddenly, and just enjoyed the out of control ride, heh.

And yea, 6 weeks away from fatherhood. I'm sitting at the baby shower now, avoiding the situation by drinking mimosa's and hiding in the room with the computer....
