Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Kissena Sat 1/28

A small group of us are making plans to be at Kissena velodrome on Saturday at 11:00. The weather sounds great...50's and sunny. If anyone wants a ride from the Navy Yard/Fort Greene area you can PM me - I have room for two bikes and two (maybe 3 people)...but one of those bikes will be in the back seat and trunk.

I've also got room for 2 bikes/2 people.....Williamsburg meet. PM me also if you need a ride.

I'm willing to go. I'll ask everyone at the PP races tonight.

Take the 7 to Flushing, Queens. Then maybe use this Queens bus line map (http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/maps/busqns.pdf) (PDF) or a a NYC bike map to find your way. It's not toooo far from the the Flushing stop. I used to live up there and took me maybe 15-20 minutes to get there. I seem to remember taking Parsons Blvd., but I could be wrong. This was awhile ago. heh.

i'm not going to be there for three very good reasons. my racing bike is not built up. it's on display at the moment. i have to help move a giant couch. and something that involves me getting naked.

Wangster, where were you? Several of us were disappointed that you weren't there to beat, as you promised. I paid your $1 entry fee for the 10 lap scratch race so that you could still officially be in last place. No need to thank me.

MrMonsterLegs will be posting the official finishing for the 10 lap race. There was also a 2 person scratch race between MML and Mike (last name?) - MML won, by a few yards. I will be posting pics soon.

So we have (un)officially kicked off the 06 racing season. Good job on the scratch race Monster Legs, ten bucks well earned. I'm down for next week, or whenever the weather says so.

I did couple laps in pp later that day, it was beautiful, so many riders came out.

Sorry I missed you guys. I did about 50 miles up in westchester county and after a long lunch didn't make it to the track until 2... only Ceya and that older guy with the Corima were there. Did my 40 Laps and went home... It was nice to make it out to the track again though...

No, I'm the dude with the bikeworks/chelsea bike frankenstein frame. Yesterday was aweome. Hopefully the weather will be as cooperative next week. Legs are a little sore today.
