General Cycling Discussion - I want a custom avatar damnit!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What format do you have it in? .GIF is what I'd recommend, having a fair amount of practice in this matter. Are you saying it rejects it based on pixel X pixel basis, file size in kilobytes, or neither?
The upload page says 64x64 ro 5120 bytes, which ever is smaller. 5k is most likely larger than 5120 bytes. To get the exact size, right click on the image while it is on your computer and seclect properties, the size will be displayed in bytes

That's a common misconception.
1k actually equals 1024bytes (2^10) so 5k = 5120 bytes.
However, windows deals in K which are multiples of the minimum sector size (or cluster, can't remember) on the hard disk (this is dependant of the format scheme, FAT, FAT32, FAT64, NTFS, EXT2, EXT3 etc...) For example I take a random file off my ntfs partition, its reads as size : 813 bytes, size on disk 4k (4096 bytes).

You can read 'whupas' there only if you look REALLY hard. Couldn't find the edit for about a minute.
