And how often have you accidentally pulled out of them?

cromo eggbeaters. have been riding them for almost nine months on the same set of cleats, and have never pulled out of them. *knock on wood*

I tried Eggbeaters Candy for a week and unclipped twice.

Eggbeater Candys. I've unclipped a couple times but only when my cleats were super worn. Timw ATAC are supposed to be better.

crank bros candy's and crank bros quattros. pulled out 3 times (one landing me in the emergency room), but it was completely my fault for not paying attention to the wear on my cleats. clipless are great, just be vigillant about replacing cleats if they even **SORTA SEEM** to be worn.

Eggbeater candy's and regular eggbeaters. No pullage yet though I don't do mad crazy tricks or skids or any of that stuff. Just regular riding.

nope, not once, and plenty of skips (not too many skids tho).
i'm also not huge, so that makes a difference.

959's and my right foot unclips every now and then ... I'm huge. Last time it happened going down hill in to a redlight intersection in the rain right at the bottom, managed to keep my sh it together though ... I want to switch to Time ATAC carbons ... at some point.

Eggbeaters here, and I've only ever pulled out when my cleats were in dire need of replacement.

eggbeaters, pulled out a few times albeit with very very worn cleats. nothing serious ever came of it, and i got new cleats.

worn cleats? i've used the same cleats since july (on my road bike) and either i'm bad at spotting it or they're not worn. how worn is worn?

riding the same set of ATAC carbons for the past eight years (holy crap!). No problems. Almost made the jump to eggbeaters, but my friends that put down a lot of miles have had problmes with them eating through the sole of their shoes.

Eggbeater candies, pulled out I think 3 times now in the last 5 and a half months and both the cleats and pedals were brand new when I got them. Once i even had a screw fall out of my cleat so i couldn't pull out. That was embarassing. I'm scrapping the crank bros for times when i get the fancy. I kinda prefer the double straps now anyways.

Time ATACs. Never had any problems. I've seen some goofy stuff happen with the pedals that made me nervous, though. (Care to elaborate on this, adamkell?)

Some no-name double sided mountain spd type things. I think they are also sold as Bontrager? They are red and i have pulled out of them lots but I get kind of sloppy with my ankles at times. it has never been at a critical point, fortunately.

I use chrome egg beaters. I've pulled out a several times, but I tend to twist my feet a lot when I don't mean to. When I pay attention, they stay connected.

Campy-labeled LOOK pedals.
Never unclipped accidentally, even fell on my @ss once because I didn't twist out of the pedal hard enough and lost my balance!

The cleats get changed when they get loose enough for me to notice that they are loose.

Shimano SPD for about a year.
Mulititude of problems and three sets of pedals.
Switched to Eggbeaters, found that the cleats wear out every three weeks and released unexpectedly.
Switched to Time Atac pedals about 6weeks ago and love them so far. No problems yet. The cleats seem to be holding up well, and they feel stable.
I do have a front brake but don't use it except in emergencies.

i'm thinking of switching from SPD to eggbeaters as the spd's seem to disengage too easily for me to try skipping/skidding with them.. eggbeater's okay for these maneuvers?

Eggbeater Candies. I've clipped out a few times with worn cleats going down super steep hills. meh.

Crank Bros EggBeaters, never even come close to unclipping. I used to ride a ****ty pair of wellgo spd's and I unclipped in a very dramatic fashion coming off a stoplight. I was pulling up as hard as I could and when i unclipped I did sort of a bike kartwheel, NOT fun.

Just my $.02

Cheapie Nashbar SPDs. I've pulled out plenty of times, but only when starting from a stand-still. Never skipping or skidding.

I actually used a pair of wellgo spds for a few weeks. I was broke at the time. I didn't so much unclip from them as the pedal self-destructed when I pulled up. Literally... it fell apart.

I have been using eggbeaters (candies and the regular sort) for about a year now. I have never unclipped. However, I can tell my cleats are getting a bit worn and its making me nervous. I really ought to replace them. (particularly since I have another set laying around)

Ira, I just switched to Time Atacs. They are way way better than spd's IMO.
I have a new pair that won't be in use until I get the Gios back if you want to try them out.
