Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Seattle heads, help me out.

Im going to be in Seattle for about 5 days. What should I do where should I go? I know nothing about the city. Anyone want to rent me a 60cm fixie? Any cool shops to check out? Cafes, Bars, Record stores, Galleries etc etc

On the real suggestion note, Easy Street is a place I like to go when I'm up in Seattle for cd's and records.

I go to Everday Music on Broadway open till midnight with a huge selections of used and new and scuffs. Also Sonic Boom is great on capitol hill, ballards, & fremont.

Last year friends and I made a pilgrimage to Bruce Lee's grave on his birthday in Seattle. Yup, the true master is buried there.

-Lock and Keel - Ballard
-Alibi - Wallingford (25 cent pool, cheap beer)

Lots has changed in Seattle since I left, but downtown is still pretty dead.
Only reason to go downtown is to do tourist stuff like pike place and space
needle. Oh yeah, if you want an awesome sandwich, Mario Battali's dad owns
a sandwich place called "Salumi." Go check it out. Awesome sandwiches there.
They've got weird hours though. Mario Battali is from the food network, if you
don't know.

the alibi room in pike place is kinda sweet. lindas is fun. and check the venue listings before you leave (thestranger.com is a good place to find out whats going on), theres likely a band playing youll want to see.
i second the everyday music suggestion. kinda like amoeba, to give you a reference.

linda's also does awesome breakfast on weekends....the cowboy taco is SO SO good.

Also go to Hot MaMa's pizze on capitol hill...good stuff.

Cal Anderson Park is really nice on capitol hill
Bills' is also good (bar/pizza) on capitol hill
Bauhaus for coffee on capitol hill

I live on capitol hill so it's pretty much what I know.

DT is just for shopping and tourists stuff.

I B&O still open? I used to spend countless hours there. What about sit and spin, I heard it went upscale. Obviously I haven't lived in Seattle for a few years.

Nobody has mentioned Bop Street Records yet. :eek: If you are into vinyl, you MUST go.

The Triple Door (more of an upscale/jazz-type joint, but awesome sound and great food. Well worth the $$$)

Emerald City Guitars is definitely worth a stop if you're into that kind of thing. That and Elliott Bay Book Co. are good reasons to go to Pioneer Square. I avoid Pioneer Square like the plague at night though. Too many drunk idiots.

thursday nights at 7pm theres a group of people that leave from westlake center. cool ride with lots of fixed gear people. we check out and ride all around town.
